ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE

The Jones Global Foundation (JGF) works ardently daily, to empower women, children and families from diverse culture backgrounds to unite on issues of social justice and human rights. The JGF organization continues to be integral by connecting millions of women and families, throughout the United States and across the globe. The team staff at JGF appreciate working with volunteers around the world.

Jones Global Foundation has partnerships working with other Victim Advocates organizations and other professional Crime Victim Advocates. Jones Global Foundation provides supportive services to families and individuals that were victims of crimes.

JGF  provides Crime Victims  education and awareness events in support of families that have been affected by crime and homicide.    

 

We provide information that helps  victims of crime navigate and understand the criminal justice system.

 

JGF helps Victims of Crime file victim compensation applications.

 

JGF educates families about crime prevention.

 

JGF provides Safety Control EducationAwareness to prevent Gun crimes and gun homicides.

 

We Provide referrals to organizations that provide Self Defense courses for women and children.

JGF guides victims about their rights as they go through the legal system.

 

We help victims of crime find shelter and necessary transportation.

 

We support fair and effective school safety and discipline practices. (Education Justice provide education awareness on the topic of Youth Justice, to help improve the Juvenile Justice System and ensure that it is used only as a last resort, and to minimize involvement of youth in the adult criminal justice system.


We strive to provide resources for stakeholders, improve collaboration and communication among youth justice
issues, and support directly impacted youth and communities to achieve youth justice reform.

 

The JGF Team provides Enhancement Seminars on prevention of bullying, peer pressure, prevention of youth on youth crime, which increases risk of trouble that leads to consequences of involvement with the Juvenile crime system.

Team JGF provides Education Awareness to help Prevent Climate Injustice

​

Approximately 68% of Black Americans live within 30 miles of a coal fired power plant.

​

Black Americans are 75% more likely than others to live near hazardous waste facilities.

​

Fossil fuel air pollution contributed to nearly one in five premature deaths in 2018.

Pollution is contributing to people of color dying from COVID at up to 3.6 times the rate of White Americans.

Research projects that unmitigated climate change will make the poor poorer in the United States.

​

The Jones Global Foundation team believes that all people have the right to an equal healthy, safe, and sustainable environment, as well as equal protection from environmental harm.

​

JGF recognizes that a diverse and inclusive movement is critical to solving the climate and environmental crisis, and in order to build a winning coalition, we must ensure that those that are directly impacted have a voice for climate change.

EDUCATION

Education is a proven ladder out of poverty and starting early is key. Jones Global Foundation works with parents and children through our literacy educational services.

 

Our literacy programs help struggling readers achieve reading milestone – when children transition from learning to read to reading to learn. Our key Literacy action services include:

 

Ruby the teaching Lady bug reading book tour.

 

Highly effective special events that works with parents prenatally through age 5 and supports early child development through educational activities, book exchanges, and parent/child groups.

 

Fundraiser to collect new books and receive monetary donations to buy new books for under privileged children.

 

Jones Global Foundation Essay Writing Contest (three winners will receive Scholarship money to buy books for college).

We are Creating Long Lasting Change for our next generation through our creative programs. We advocate for youth and children of all ages. Our key domestic issues include:

 

Youth Enhancement Seminars (YES) the of goal of Y.E.S. is to provide Youth with valuable information on topics youth deal with throughout their teen years and early adulthood. This knowledge will help the youth to make the best positive choices in their lives.

 

JGF aims to provide services and resources to help children and adults to have access to fair and equal, quality education.

 

JGF provides educational seminar training, special events, and resources that enhance leadership development { for youth and adults}.

Every child deserves a healthy start in life to include parents and family members. The Jones Global team strive to works with several agencies, organizations and health providers. The JGF team goal is to end preventable child deaths with a focus on maternal newborn, child health and nutrition. Our JGF team will continue to strive to alleviate hunger by providing awareness and education on quality and health care treatments to prevent family disease. Our Jones Global Foundation Team appreciates all community health care providers that support all our resources.. Jones Global Foundation Teen Pregnancy Prevention Initiatives, invests in the young people of North Carolina. Our goal is to help teens to  learn the knowledge and skills they need today so they will be able to take care of themselves, thei families and their communities.

JGF  Teen Pregnancy Prevention  Initiatives (TPPI) supports Fayetteville and communities across North Carolina and throughout the globe, that prevent teen pregnancy and support teen parents.  Jones Global Foundation (TTPI) program provides resources  to prevent teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections by providing education and awareness with supporting academic achievement, encouraging parent/teen communication, prompting responsible citizenship and building self-confidence.   

    

Special Event (Education Awareness) meet with and write letters to legislatures and congress members in support of updated legislative laws that help women and children pertaining to prevention of poor health/diseases, affordable quality, and equal health care services.

LIFE IS WORTH LIVING-SUCIDE PREVENTION

Life is Worth Living is a JGF  mental health series that is part of the Unblind the Truth Campaign. During the Life is Worth Living Series, JGF Team members will interview Mental Health Professionals. During the three part series the following topics will be discussed.

Bipolar Disorder: A Spectrum of ups and downs: Symptoms, potential causes, approaches to diagnosis, and management of illness will be explored.  Early diagnosis and treatment helps to reduce the likelihood of substance use disorders. Decline in relationships, loss of employment, and the risk of sucide. With a clear understanding of the illness, allied health professionals will be able to educate and help community leaders, families and consumers listen, so that together we can promote wellness and assessing, treating and supporting clients and family and friends with bipolar disorder.

 

Major Depressive Disorder: It's More than Just the Blues: Depression is a Catch all word for several different types of depressive disorders including major depressive disorder (MDD) dysthymia, bipolar depression and seasonal affective disorder. Major Depressive Disorder, it cause, symptoms and management is the focus of the part two during our online discussion

Sucide Prevention: Saving Lives Through Awareness and Education 

Suicide: Its a Sensitive topic people do not like to talk about. However talking, openly about suicide is one of the best strategies to prevent it. This 3rd part of the life is worth living series education and awareness about Suicide will cover warning signs, cover the terminology, risk factors, discuss assessment techniques, provide helpful resources, and discuss prevention methods surrounding suicide.
